Competition & Spectator Information

  • Area Competition will take place at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, TX.

  • Admission: Gates for spectators will open at 10:30am.

  • To purchase your tickets, click here. GENERAL ADMISSION - $5.00. (Children 5 and under are free.)

  • Tickets can also be purchased at the venue. NO refunds or exchanges.

  • RULES:

    • Clear bags only

    • No umbrellas

    • No confetti or balloons

    • No outside food or drink

Schedule


  • 7:30 am - Loading Crew arrives to load trucks

    8:00 am - Students arrive at EHS ready for departure for Van Horn (be dressed for rehearsal in the evening. See Below. NO JEANS!!)

    8:30 am - Buses Arrive at Front of School or Montwood side (whatever is best in school traffic)

    9:00 am - Students depart for Van Horn

    **MIDLAND/ODESSA IS ON CENTRAL TIME (1 Hour ahead of El Paso, TX)**

    11:00 am - Estimated arrival time Van Horn rest area for break (not a buy stop)

    (Sack lunches will be provided to the students on the bus)

    11:30 am - Load Buses for Midland/Odessa

    4:00 pm - Arrival at Sleep Inn and Suites Midland West for check in

    4:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Get into rooms and unload items/luggage not needed for rehearsal

    5:00 pm - Load Buses for Legacy HS

    5:30 pm - 7:30 pm - Rehearse at Legacy HS 

    7:30 pm - Load Equipment Trucks and Buses to depart for dinner

    8:00 pm - 9:30 pm -Dinner

  • 6:00 am-8:00 am - Breakfast at hotel

    9:00am - ALL LUGGAGE AND BELONGINGS IN THE LOBBY!! Load luggage and do head count (nothing is to be left behind because we will NOT coming back)

    9:00 am - Depart hotel for Ratliff Stadium in half uniform (see details below)

    9:30am - Arrive at Ratliff Stadium and begin Show Prep

    9:30 am - 11:00 am - Show Prep (Instrument unload, Prop Assemble, Restroom Break, etc.)

    11:15 am - Stretch and Mental Preparation

    11:35 am-12:20 pm - Performance Warm Up

    12:25 pm - Report to staging area for performance

    12:45 pm - Performance

    1:00pm - Exit field

    1:30 pm - 4:00 pm - Pack and depart for lunch at Mr. Gatti’s Pizza - 2750 N Grandview

    4:30 pm - Arrive back to stadium for awards announcements

    *4:45 pm - Drum Major Retreat and Awards

    6:30 pm - Area A Finals Begins

    8:30 pm - Finals Awards and Results announced.

    9:30 pm - Depart for Eastwood HS

    3:00 am -Arrive at Eastwood HS

    *After Drum Major Retreat and Awards are announced and in the event that we do not make finals, we will load the bus and head home earlier than scheduled above. A dinner will be provided upon arrival on the bus for departure.
